Mohsen Fouladpoor is an Iranian sculptor, He started his activity in 1995.
The roots of mohsen Fouladpoor's art lie in history, myths , and epics that are also rooted in myths. Fouladpoor's works have a folk_ like quality , and have existed in different versions before him.
Fouladpoor has based his creations on traditional forms, and traces of history can be found in all of his pieces. His works are unique, symmetrical , and firm and comply with the requirements of clay, which as a
medium is the wellspring of Iranian art, and their firmness is rooted in the solidity of the ideas and beliefs behind them.
One cannot say that Fouladpoor's works show no signs of morality or popolitics, because at times he includes mischievousness in his pieces , some of which fall outside the boundaries of society's traditional values.
Fouladpoor's Sculptures have a particular rebelliousness and temperament, which he does not step beyond.
Fouladpoor makes his work whit a focus on modernism, and the reason they can be classified as such is because of their formalism, tendency toward realism, classical anesthetics, and a connection to a time/place that relates to a form of traditional Iranian painting; and he continues his work without much concern for artistic transformations.
